I am a maker of gardens, photographs, and collages. I am a collector of uncommon plants, old images and books, and small forgotten objects. Each passion ignites an urge to create the unique and personal.
Designing a garden, I delight in the time with my hands in the dirt and traveling to nurseries to pick plants. My gardens are an intimate space to share, reflect, and rest.
I respond to the ever changing quality of light in nature. The impulse is to capture the wonder with an image. The innate response to the beauty I see. A tree touched by gentle morning light. A flower glimmering. Stones washed over by the waves day after day. The endless and recurring cycle-the fragile and the hard coexisting. Assembling collages allows me to play and open to the new. An unexpected something beyond words. To combine the forgotten is a journey of composing-to take the ordinary and to see afresh.
Seeing, interpreting, connecting, and making enlivens and brings me joy. The intention is bring all that joy and share it with others.
